The Polar Express

Saturday Steve and I took Jack to the Polar Express at the Railroad Museum with the Smits' clan. I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived but when we left I can say it was a really good time and I would recommend this to everyone.

It started out with the kids having hot chocolate served to them and then a gentleman read the book Polar Express.

After the book was read everyone bundled up and walked outside to take a train ride to the North Pole.

After we rode the train to the North Pole it was time to get off the train and proceed into the building to see a certain special someone..... SANTA

Jack wrapped his arm around Santa when he climbed on his lap.

Informing Santa that is has been a good boy most of the time and that he would like a train, fire truck and airplane.

Still Can't Believe It!

That is correct folks... there are TWO little ones there.

Congrats to my friends the Wolfgrams!! (Be honest.... for a minute you thought it was us right?!)

We are so very excited for you guys. We know that Allyson will be the best big sister ever and we cannot wait to meet the new additions!!

Little Man

Alex had his 18 month check up yesterday.

He is 34" long (90%tile)
He is 26.9 pounds (59%tile)
His head is 48.2cm (61%tile)

He got two shots and he is shot free until he is in Kindergarten (well expect for the flu shot). Whoo Hoo!!

He is healthy as an Ox. He is right where he is suppose to be and accelerated in some areas. Dr Houn asked if we started potty training and I just about choked. Um... no... isn't he a bit too young? Her response... no you should start trying. Well Steve and I just looked at each other like um sure.... but deep down inside we are saying probably not for a bit. BUT how awesome would it be to have no children in diapers!!??!!! CHAAAAA $$$$$$$$$$$$ CHING $$$$$$$ The funny part is that the sheet she handed us states "the average age for potty training is 2-3 years old". Granted every time Jack goes the bathroom Alex is right there standing next to him tilting his hips and smiling. So who knows maybe we will try in a few months.... you just never know what will happen.

Thanksgiving at G&G H's

We spent Thanksgiving at my parents this year. We all had a great time and Steve and I were able to sneak away for a dinner date Friday night (thanks Mom).
We always get our Christmas tree this weekend and this year was no exception. We have been going to Hediger's for the past 20 plus years but unfortunately they were not open this year. So this year we went to R&S Tree Farm and we were not sure what to expect. So we got dressed in warm clothes and Steve, Jack and I were off.

But of course before we left we had to make sure Alex was getting my parents house ready for the big tree.
While he waited for us he entertained everyone with a little music.

We arrived at R&S and were delighted to find out that we would be taking a hayride to the trees.
After about 30 minutes we found our tree and my parents too.
Loaded them on the trailer
And we were off back to the van. Jack wanted to make sure the tree didn't fall off so he was using his muscles to make sure it stayed on the trailer.
Then it was time to use the baler to wrap the tree for its long ride on top of the van back to Green Bay. We had a great time and we would go back to R&S if Hedigers is no longer in business.
We got the tree up at our house and the boys started to decorate it Sunday. Funny how they seem to want to put all the ornaments in one spot on the tree.

I forgot to take a picture of the tree after it was completed. I will try to do so tomorrow and add it to the blog.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and just think Christmas is only 24 days away!!!

Weekend Update

Saturday morning Steve put the Christmas lights up on the house. He was very disappointed this year. You see, Steve is usually the first person on the block/area to do this. Well, lets just say that about a dozen people beat him this year. You did good Steve.... all you need to do is put the lights on the two trees in front of the house and just think THIS Saturday we will have the tree in the house to put lights on!!! YIPPPEEEE!!!!

That evening Steve and I went out on a date. Yes that is correct we had Heidi (thank you very much again) come over to watch the boys and we went out. The first time since AUGUST!! How sad is that?! The boys had a blast with Heidi and she must have worn them out because they slept all night long!! We enjoyed ourselves at Los Banditos (our favorite Mexican place in GB) and did a little xmas shopping before returning home at 8pm... yep we know how to party!!
Sunday Steve and the boys headed to Kaukauna for a family reunion while my niece Theresa and I had a "special day". We drove down to Appleton and went shopping at the mall, ate at Noodles and then headed back to my place and frosted pumpkin cookies. It was a great time and I swear she smiled the entire time.... well what do you expect I am a pretty cool Aunt if I don't say so myself!

Random Pictures

The boys brushing their teeth, which they LOVE to do. Jack was "teaching" Alex how to do it the "right" way.

Steve let the boys have a picnic last night for dinner in front of the TV. Nice picnic equipment!

Saturday I started the Christmas cookies and the boys helped me out..... eating the batter on the beaters.

Alex and Gma H cuddling before bedtime

Jack got a new car seat last week and here is Steve getting it squared away. Check out Alex... that is his favorite spot and he HAS to have the remote.

Check me out!

"You seriously think I am going to give this back to you!" Alex to Jack

"Do you think we both can ride in it at the same time??" Jack to Mom
